Beach engagement sessions are for sure my favorite! Not only am I obsessed with the beach, but I do love the versatility in what you can wear to your engagement session at the beach! Reason being, the location and your backdrop speaks for itself ( imagine that sunset in the back. UGH! ) 
What I personally recommend is choosing outfits that truly speak to the both of you as a couple, and the vibe you want your engagement session to portray! Here are two examples, 
As Emma and Owen did you can choose more of a relaxed look. Tees, jeans, sweaters, what ever is comfy and cozy to express more of a fun and carefree engagement shoot. Maybe with the both of you ending in the water, haha. 
You could also go the more elevated way! Choosing more of a flowly white dress, maybe a white button up and linen pants for him. Whether you want to keep it more causal, or elevate your look with a white dress ladies, the beach is your spot!

what do you wear to a beach engagement shoot ?

After many moments captured of these two, we entered into blue hour, one of my favorite times to shoot! Blue hour gives a romantic and moody vibe during any beach session which is my favorite. The music was playing, the ocean air was crisp and the seagulls were flying over in the final moments of our shoot.  
From here we returned home, and I started to edit some of my favorite photos i've ever taken. While I was editing, I really focused on who Owen and Emma are as a couple. While the beach is both one of there favorite things, Owen and Emma are the most fun. Bright, colorful, moody and romantic are how these photos came to be.

Finally we had arrived at the beach, the sun was hitting golden hour and I was filled with vision for Laguna Beach. The rocks, the ocean, I am constantly so inspired by where I live! 
I first started with having both Emma and Owen holding hands. From there, I encouraged spins, hugs and running up and down the beach. Lots of smiles and laughs were had, and JOY was a main part not only Owen and Emma's love story, but the vision for these photos.

How this shoot all came to be originally was my two besties were coming into town, and I hadn't ever taken photos of them and this was the PERFECT opportunity! I told Emma to bring a cute outfit just in case, which I knew we were doing these photos no matter what because they are the cutest !
Let's just say when they had arrived, I already had a Pinterest board ready.
